    Default Finally the DOVO arrived

The DOVO Ebony 5/8 SS honed by Lynn finally arrived!

I already checked out how sharp it is after Lynn's honing

I still have lots to learn about honing... my wapi's far away from the Lynn honed dovo...

Tomorrow I'll give my face a day of rest, or at least I'll just shave WTG, but not later than Wednesday I'll be trying out what a really sharp razor can do

    Wish me luck

Luck(?). . . you have all the luck you need in having a Lynn honed razor. Now just use it sensibly and you will emerge as a smooth member

Tomorrow it's the big day !!

Unfortunately I'll have to wait for tomorrow... I've got some kind of virus and I'm all aching... Today is a no-shave day...

Keep your blade angle low and don't push the blade into your face , let it ride over your face (that's the best I can describe it ) . As others here have said , you may want to only shave the flat and easy to shave parts of your face and finish up with your regular razor until you get the "feel" for the straight razor , but that's entirely up to you . Until you learn the basic technique your shaves will be a little rough . It's like learning to ride a bicycle , if you can learn to ride a bicycle you can learn to use a straight . Good luck with it .

Thank you dave, fortunately it's not the first str8 shave for me.
I already shaved a few times with a wapienca that I honed (not well as Lynn unfortunately...)

Now I'll go to try the DOVO

    Cheers

Sorry for the late update but the illness lasted more than planned...

Yesterday I finally shaved with the DOVO and... WOW!!!!

It was the smooothest shave ever and one of the closest of all my life. No irritation at all, just one little cut, that I really can't realize when I got, on the right side of my chin and the shave lasted sooooo long!!! Normally when I shave in the morning with a DE or a cartridge I'd shave again at noon, but this time... I shaved yesterday evening at 21.30, more or less, and only now I should shave again (here in Italy it's now 20.30)
