Thanked: 1587Newbie Again!
Every couple of years I get a bit restless. The lure of fresh-faced childhood gets too much for me. The urge to eat soup again kicks in.
I shaved off my beard and 'tache today.
I feel like a newbie again. Top lip and chin are just so unused to being touched by a razor that they turned and ran away in fright. Highlights included: trying to figure out which angle is best, constantly changing hands in an effort to get the best attack , avoiding giving myself a second mouth, and lather up both nostrils. Believe it or not, it brought back very happy memories indeed!
Won't be keeping it shaved off though. Another thing I remember now is how much better I look with the goatee and moustache. But, it was nice to see my lips again after such a long time. For those of you who are curious, here's an artist's image of how I look with no beard:
Enough said.

Well, I hope at least you took the advice from the Lather, lather everywhere thread about the amount of lather you should load your nostrils with.

James, you gotta post a pic of your new clean-shaven self! Lou needs images man, not words.
So... did the skin burn afterwards? It would lay to rest the question of whether one's skin really does need to get used to the blade or whether it's just technique.

Thanked: 1587Yes, there was burn. Unfortunately, I don't think that the technique variable was eliminated completely because I really haven't had much upper lip and chin experience.
Oh no....no pictures. I picked up my wife this afternoon after work and she laughed! If my nearest and dearest find it amusing, there's no way I'm sharing with the entire web... sorry guys!

Thanked: 9Hm, a certain Ms. Angelina has fish lips, according to some other females... but I don't want to go there...
Where I want to go is:
We need the photos!!!
And your wife - well, laughing sure beats kissing you and saying "Quick, my husband will be hear any minute now, we have to go before he shows up with his macho goatee and kicks your ass"
Cheers

Really James if you can do the drag queen thing (makeup and rose ) then the Mr. Clean, catfish smackers on a baby's butt face photos shouldn't be that big of a deal.
Really most guys are understanding (but none that I know )
