Thanked: 4942Reading threads like this are an epic disappointment to me and the only pain I have ever had with the web based communication environment. Dude, If you had any questions, you could have pm'ed me or contacted Classic vs. this kind of exhaustive thread. I did get your PM after the fact and after you started this thread.
Have fun.

Thanked: 0Well, I just woke up got you pm. The reason I didn't contact classic, or you first is because I didn't know the blade was dull. I'm a noob I can't tell the difference between a sharp blade and a dull one as I have never seen a sharp blade. I just assumed that it was sharpened. This thread at least helped me figure out it was the blade and not my technique. I'm very happy with your quick response and answer. I'm actually very happy that this blade is crap! I am going to find a new razor that is of a better quality and I will defiantly send it out for honing. Sorry for the mix up. This has no way discouraged me and I still need a great shave. Thank You

WOW! That's crazy! (but does explain everything)
So, this razor was 'bought new' and it came in that condition?!
I'm guessing it was a returned razor that the classic, or who ever the vendor was, did not realize was honed to death. WHICH, again is not surprising since the Dovo-Inox is a bit tricky to hone.
Huh. Ah well, now everything is squared away...time to start over!

my first shave was with a dull razor that i thought was sharp. it was not a pleasurable experience. i had to learn how to strop, the angle of the blade, lather, the whole 9 yards. all this before i found this website, so you are way ahead of me already. it took a few months to try again. took that long for the burn to go away.
get a great str8, learn the technique, and try again. patience is everything when putting a str8 blade to your face. good luck to you and hang in there.
greetings from texas, and welcome to SRP!!

Thanked: 0It was not bought from classic. It was an ebay find. And back to ebay it goes. Luckily for me I constantly buy and sell so this is not even a problem. Let someone else have fun with it. I have bought a few things from classic and they are awesome. Super fast shipping and everything packed really nice. They are certainly an A1 store. So I'm most likely going to order a dovo from their store. I defiantly want a razor from Germany.

Thanked: 0Weird. So, if you bought the razor from eBay and sent it to Lynn, how is Classic involved? Or did it get to Lynn via Classic?
I guess that's what I get for eavesdropping on a thread!
