    Default Question about stropping

    I was watching this video:

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=liKYctpdjC4

and noticed the guy said that he uses his paste strop (is that what you call it?) as well as his canvas strop almost like a final honing, and then the leather one for the real stropping. He said to strop with the leather one, you have the spine lead, not the blade like when honing. My question is, since he didn't address it, do you lead with the spine or blade when stropping on a paste strop or canvas strop?

    Thanks!

Well just stop and think about it. If you are using a medium that can be cut with an edge and you go edge forward what is going to happen to your nice new strop?

You always strop spine leading on any strop no matter the type, canvas, leather, pasted leather, paddle, etc.
