Thanked: 0Ottawa/Montreal area honers?
Howdy all!
I'm new to straight razor shaving having bought a Dovo, as well as Lynn Abrams DVD.
I think I'm having some trouble getting my razor as sharp as needed and was wondering if there are any honers in the Ottawa or Montreal areas that might take a few minutes with me to help get my blade shaving-sharp.
FYI, I have a double-sized paddle strop (leather but no padding underneath) and a synthetic 8000 grit ceramic hone. One side of the strop is bare, the other has a bit of 0.5micron blade honing compound rubbed in. (all those supplies are from Lee Valley tools)
Thanks!

Sorry, I'm just a newb as well - I'm in the hone collecting phase right now though. Talk to me in about six months, and hopefully I'll be able to help a bit!

Hi
I'm in Toronto, if that's of any help. If you don't find anyone locally, I've honed quite a few razors for members of various groups. All I ask is that you pay the shipping back and forth.
Totton in Toronto

P.S. if you email me place "razor" in the subject heading so my spam killer lets your email through.

Thanked: 0I have a blue belgian and yellow coticule and have so far honed my razors to what I like. Both have been brand new mind you, one honed by lynn then the second was just off the shelf and honed by me. I can give it a shot for you if you don't want to pay shipping to TO.
