Default The feeling is very different from a straight and a DE?

I have been using a straight 5 months. I have a Dovo Best Quality 6 / 8 and wapienica this very twisted that I am thinking of dropping, it is very very twisted. I do not know if my skills Sharpening are bad. Or is that a straight shaving this way. The feeling is different with a huge DE.

I am expecting a visit from a relative old man of 88 years who was a barber aver if I explained my doubts but not when you can come.

    I am stuck.

    Greetings from Barcelona

Of course the feeling is different. If those razors a honed by a pro it should only take one or two months to get confident with a straight razor – especially if switching form a DE.
I started with a DE when I was a teen (14). Having the typical teenage sensitive skin, it was not always a joy. When I got into straight razors about the age of 20, and learning to hone them, I quickly learned the basics of straight razor shaving. About four or five years ago I exclusively switched to straight razors and I've never cut myself. Camping in Germany this summer forced me to use my old DE and on the second stroke I cut myself under the eye... A straight razor is so much more gentle than a DE and the shave is just as close as a DE. Therefore shaving with a straight is a lot quicker for me, probably because of the longer blade and the fact that I can be more “careless” as the straight is more forgiven.

Have you tried shaving with a straight razor that was honed by a professionel? if not, try to find someone her in Europe that can hone one of your razors.

When shaving with a straight, you might experience more resistance when cutting the whiskers but it should not hurt or irritate your skin. It should still be very comfortable and a smooth glide.
