Thanked: 0You're exactly right, I remember now, his e-mail said Robert Keyes. Thank you. He was willing to help me out.
I was gonna meet up with him while I was in Gallatin helping the M-I-L move and that Friday I went in to have 5 moles removed. Routine deal, done it before, go right back to the office afterwards. SHE CUT OUT 16 instead. Late Fri/early Sat my stiches started popping out and I wound up with a staph infection. That was Oct 12th and I didn't make it back to work until Oct 23rd.
Just got my replacement phone Wednesday and had not backed up my data with his number in there.

Thanked: 0I just don't understand it! My wife and I got married in Nov '95, she hasn't worked since March '96. But I learned EARLY not to use the angle, "But Honey, it's my money."
Between razors, Harleys, bass boat, Trek road bikes etc, I don't have any cheap hobbies. I tried to compromise and I did give up golf after shoulder surgery.

Thanked: 1quite scary.
Married 93, wife hasn't had a paying job since 97. same "my" rule applies.
Sport Bikes, Music (there's a concert every month, and a "gathering" every year in the Midwest somewhere), bicycles, Computers (and related paraphernalia including digital photography gear), tools, Hockey!! (Go Lightning!!), and now Razors (and for some reason, I'm seeing razor restoration items in my near future as well!). It'd be guns too if I didn't have so many kids!!

Thanked: 0Wow that is scary. I didn't even think about music. I have about 6 guitars and my brother and I are meeting in the morning to go pick up sound equipment for Church in the morning, I know I'll see something I want for myself. I have season tickets to the Predators, game tomorrow night at 7PM as a matter of fact.
I'll admit I have a few guns. I have a 9mm, .410, 12g and a 30-06, and a compound bow. I don't go super nuts on guns though. I have a 5 yr old and they stay in a locked gun safe.
We have way too much in common. Maybe we're the same person in a parrellel world and we're married to the same woman. You married her two years before me, so my marriage isn't even legal. Does that mean I can get out without losing half my toys!?

Thanked: 0I may have made a long stride in improvement. I've been using Williams soap puck. My wife and son stopped by and had lunch with me today and I stopped by the Cutting Edge and he carried Col Conk. He had one cake left in Amber and I bought it. The Williams was drying out on my face so quick I was constantly reapplying. The right side would dry before I could get the brush to the left side.
I made a few passes on the Norton and stropped it. I got a very irritation free shave from the Col Conk. Other than a very few little spots I couldn't go ATG on my neck, it's basically BBS. I EVEN shaved my chin. I haven't been able to even slide it thru the stubble on my chin. I've never gotten a blade of any sort to cut my mustache. Cartridge, DE - nothing. I got most of my mustache except where it met my nose.
The Col Conk was much easier for me to get lathered up right and it stayed wetter and slicker on my face. I'm glad I started this post, otherwise it wouldn't have been so prevalent on my mind and I probably wouldn't have stopped by the store. I've got a kit and I'm gonna play with making my own just for fun.
I'm very relieved. When I quit wet shaving 3-4 years ago and went to an electric, I never got a very close shave. My wife stayed so ticked at me because over night I would ruin the pillow cases.
Thanks for the shot in the arm guys!

Another middle Tennessee newbie here.
I'm not the guy to help out with honing, but do let me know if you find somebody local.
I just got my strop & new razor today. Now I've got three razors. Guess tomorrow is the first try.

Where are you located, Buzz?
Maybe we should start a Middle Tennessee straight razor users group!
The wives will really think we've gone nuts.
