Thanked: 13 small shaves in... so 1 shave
OK so my beard is/was quite full, and I keep it trimmed with electric clippers, setting 1, avoid the "lost in the woods look". Anyhow I started with the upper cheeks and slowly brought them down to chin straps over the course of 3 little shaves last week. Now starting with the cheeks was a good idea, and then I thought hey, the neck is a big flat area, easy to see, etc. maybe that's the next place to go. Well it turns out it's quite easy to do, so the neck got cleaned out and I gotta say things were going really well.
Then yesterday I thought hey lets loose the stash and do the solo chinstrap. BAD IDEA. The upper lip was a . But you know I figured hey you just gotta work through it, not to mention I looked like a blast from the 1700's (see photo). I knew drastic measures had to be taken, so I pondered the chin.
Anyhow, today I went for the chin with the intention of a 3000Mi from Graceland look,(see imdb for the DVD cover, check out the burns on Kevin). BAD IDEA #2. The chin made the upper lip look like child's play. So many curves, such stiff stiff hair, I had a 5pm shadow after 2 hours, lol. Oh well, I'm gonna give it another crack tomorrow.
Take home messages,
1. cheeks easy
2. don't be afraid of the neck, it's just like a cheek, flat and smooth
3. upper lip = terror
4. chin = just really hard
5. shaving your cheeks for a week is not enough time under my belt to attack lip/chin
Just my experiences, T.

It's the learning curve Gomez. Make sure you are relaxed and take it easy. In the beginning use short strokes and have good prep with good soap or cream. At about 20 shaves you will notice it getting easier. Keep going.

Thanked: 1Update
OK today went much better, the chin was less difficult but the neck had some irritation, (you win some you loose some). The upper lip was still scary as hell, but everything got done. I think the burns look killer, I don't take myself too seriously (see attached).
