    Default Hello from Montreal

Just wanted to try this out and say hi, I'm new to the whole straight thing and came upon this site while looking for information. I spent quite a bit of time browsing around before I decide to throw my stick in and say hi. I'm a college student in Montreal, looking to get into the straight razor scene, this seemed like the place to start, nice people, great community, what's not to love? I was thinking of looking around for a shave ready razor, stainless, maybe 5/8 or 6/8, but now I've seen The Topher's plan for a kit.... which is really great, so I might just wait and see.
Anyway, it's nice to be a part of this now, happy shaving I guess.

    Welcome to the SRP!

Check out the Buy/Sell/Trade forum for good buys on vintage blades. Just make sure they are honed and shave tested.
Most new razors from the factory are not honed properly or shave tested.

Welcome aboard. Good to have another fellow-Canadian in here

Edit: Listen to what Randy has to say. He has every sort of acquisition disorder there is in our community and then some, in addition to having the know-how to back it up

Welcome! I am currently teaching 50 college students here in wet, windy, and cold Northern California. Does that count?
