Thanked: 0Hello from beautiful, Ohio. Land of grass!
Hello, I'm new to the forum (Hence my post) and new to shaving with a straight razor. I received a gift set from Zeepk.com, all the essentials were include. Razor, strop, soap, dish, brush. All for the winning price of 30$. It was a birthday present...
I was able to shave with it, much like you would shave with a steak knife. Now I'm here looking for my next razor. I've seen some Dovo's and others just trying to find whats right.
I have a technical background, work on computers and networks all day. Usually hanging around teamhackaday.com a folding team that works on a lot of hardware hacking projects.
Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard. For starters: GET RID OF THE ZEEPK SET!!! Once you do that, I'd recommend going to www.thewellshavedgentleman.com and get a real razor, hanging strop, pasted paddle strop set. You will get a good razor that will also be shave-ready, a strop to align the edge and a pasted paddle strop to keep it sharp by touching it up every 5-15 shaves.
