Thanked: 0Glad to know I'm not alone.
Just found this site. I've been shaving with a straight razor for about three years and learned all alone. Wish I had found this site long ago. It's good to know I'm not alone and have already discovered some great information.

Thanked: 0Thanks
I'm looking forward to next years get together... Really, I tried to start using a staright razor back in 1966, (my great grandfather's) but cut myself the first try. So, I just left it alone until 2005. I desided I was going to master the art and have done well if I do say so. I have five rasor's now and each one dose a good job. I hardly ever nck myself anymore. It is very enjoyable and makes me look forward to me shave.
This site has already tought me a few things I've been doing wrong. Mostly in my honing. Got to get some better stone's.

Thanked: 44Hey you sound like my exerience. I learned on my own 3 years ago but couldn't hone a razor to sharp enough to be comfortable. My first shaves were a disaster and I put it down and picked it up a dozen or more times in the last few years. This place tought me a bunch about honing and I have been going strong ever since. Welcome and enjoy.
