First Shave Observations
Well I took the first baby steps today toward my real, manly shave. I used a shave-ready razor that I picked up here and stropped it on a paddle strop that I picked up from the wellshavedgentleman. Overall, I would give the experience a 10 with the actual shave being a 6/7.
I did a WTG pass on my whole face. No real problems there except the left side of my neck. Couple of minor nicks but they didn't even require the alum block when I finished. Went XTG on my cheeks and got good smooth shave on my right side (I am right handed). Not as smooth on the left side (I used my left hand on that side) but no real problems.
Still not comfortable with an ATG pass on my neck and need some work on my WTG on left side but overall not bad.
I think my past year of work with a DE has helped me better understand blade angles and direction of hair growth. I was able to know what directions to take around my chin to get that area without any real problems today.
Will continue to work on it. As if all my ADs weren't bad enough, I can now ad str8s to the list. My wife will be trilled!
Thanks

It sounds like you did great Chris! The mechanics will come with practice. Keep at it. It only gets better.
Good Job!
