why did you buy 7?
have you done any reading on str8's and the use of?

I myself have just got into the str8 razors though i used to watch my step dad when i was a kid, course it could just be me but i have been reading for 2 weeks on the use of, honing, care of, and repair of str8's just so that IF i do have issues i can step back and figure out what i did wrong more easily. about to get a
DOVO Black Handle Best Value 5/8 that i will send out to be honed and a Illinois Razor Strop 2.5" x 23" Top Grain Cowhide with Handle.

i also bought a cheap keager to practice honing on just because.

anyway good luck and DON'T give up yet, i mean heck took you how many years to read or do math.....this won't take so long but it is an experience worth undertaking.
