Default New DOVO passed HHT, normal?

I just purchased a dovo carbon straight, and out of the box i tried the ball of the thumb test and it felt very very sharp. I then tried the HHT and it was flawless. I decided not to hone or to strop and it was the best shave I've had.

Is this normal to receive a razor with a seemingly perfect edge? Did i make a mistake in not stropping or honing prior to my first shave? I can't believe that I did considering the quality of my shave.

    Thanks for the input!

If the shave was that good you didn't do anything wrong. I might not bother with anything before your next shave either.

That is unheard of to get a factory new razor in that good of a condition.

If that was a brand new out of the box Dovo and it shaved that well, my suggestion would be this.......
Run, don't walk, to the nearest store and buy a Lottery Ticket
Because you are lucky my friend

+++1 You want to shares on the ticket?

Seriously, . That's the first time I've heard of an out of the box shave ready also. Unless your a 11 year-old, then it doesn't count.

Sounds like someone at the Dovo works made a terrible mistake. They might be contacting you to return it for rehoning. Muahaha

I got it from classicshaving.com and it was brand new, the perforated gold sticker label was unbroken.

Unfortunately the don't have the lottery in Alabama. :-(
