Congrats! What a cool feeling when you have conquered something and do a great job. It can only get better from here on out.

Congrats on the first shave M8 and best wishes for many more to come!
As for the left hand; try practicing with a plain ol' butter knife. Whip up some lather and apply it and just practice taking it off using a butter knife. If it will help you, tap on some sort of fake scales or something. In a matter of no time at all you'll be using two hands.
Congrats again and good luck,

I think I did better with my left hand my first few shaves. My lack of experience doing anything with that hand forced me to be very careful, delicate, and deliberate. I got false confidence with my right very early and paid the price for going "willy nilly". For the record, nothing calms you down like cutting yourself for the first time. It's not a question of IF you are going to, but a question of when. Once you are over the first blood hump, it's all just old hat.

I and many others use just the right hand for holding the razor. Very do-able. Try both and use what's comfortable for you.
A link.

Congrats on the first shave man. I'm only a few ahead of you and it just gets easier. I'll agree that you have to respect the razor. I cut myself up pretty good first time. I also agree that I did a better job with the left hand. Seems like I took it a little slower and more careful.

Congratulations! I know the feeling, and it's great! From here it's only "onwards and upwards"!

Did you apply any products afterwards, if so how was that. I'm not entirely sure on how I want to go about it when I'm in a position to have my "virginity" taken.

sorry if I start a flamefest here, but opposite-hand shaving is one thing that i think will come more naturally to lefties, since we are used to doing more things with our non-preferred hand. I was able to shave with my right hand pretty comfortably since my first shave.
