I agree with the "oops" comments. It will need to be honed. Can you contact the person from whom you bought it for a re-hone? Some honemeisters will recondition a razor for a new straight shaver at no charge to help compensate for accidents such as yours.

How did you have the strop fastened? Was is an achoring into the wall problem or did strop hardware (rings, loops, gizmos) fail? If you are fastening to a gypsum board or plaster wall, you need to locate the studs in the wall and fasten through the wall finish INTO a stud with minimum of 3/4" of screw threads of that screw eye or hook into that structural member, more can't hurt.
