Two perspectives from me. One, if your not on a first name basis with the person that honed the blade its probably not shave ready.

Two, when properly stropped the blade should feel a tad sticky and feel sharp when you touch your wet thumb to it.

So, either come up with some new friends with smooth stones or be prepared to do some significant stropping.

    What he said +1.

Everything depends on a sharp razor. That razor should feel a lot like a new DE blade (TPT) if it is really shave ready.

Hmm anyone know someone that can hone my razor before I use it. Got all the equipment and am eager to give it a whirl but preferably without a blood bath. Anyone in the UK??!
