    Default Genco SafeEdge Model B

So I had gotten a lot(5) of razors off the bay and when they arrived I was surprised to find that one of them was a disposable type from Genco. For two weeks now I was trying to find proper blades to fit it and finally found that the "shaping" blades from the barber supply fit perfectly. So...

Last night when I got home with my purchase of blades I said to myself, "Self, you should try this out. Could be a good travel alternative." Let me tell you, that there is not an ounce of similarity between this razor and any other old straight I have. It is much more unforgiving! I haven't had weepers in a long long time and I got them last night. All I can figure is that the angles have to be different when I hold it. I did get a good shave but I may as well have been using a DE and pushing into the face with it.

The plan now... to rest up the skin for a day then try again tomorrow. I am surprised at how hard it was to find blades though.

Thanks for the post! I have yet to use a replaceable blade str8 razor but I want to try one eventually since I have several of them. It seems that control of the pressure is critical.
