Thanked: 0first shave, not half bad :D
I was recently talking to my gandpa about his younger days, and he kept talking about shaving with a straight and how smooth it was, and i couldnt get it out of my head. so i went ahead and bought the supplies
read a fair amount of info on the web first, found this place (and i gotta say the tips saved me from slicing myself a lot) and then went for it. I must admit i was pretty scared when i was shaving my lip and chin, but all in all for a first go it was a bit better than my disposable, with only 2 nicks. still getting the hang of stropping and by the feel of it my blade definitely needs to be honed (arriving next week).
even though there were only 2 nicks, it was a pretty good experience. i actually bled less with this than i did with my disposable (my hair grows in really odd directions). Trickiest part was maneuvering so i could see myself in the mirror.
all in all, im pretty excited. Just need to practice and get better

Congratulations! You have every right to satisfied with accomplishing this classic and gentlemanly art. It is also gratifying that you have a connection with your grandfather. We tend to remember them more as can connect to them in doing the same thing they did.
