Default Barber's hone or pasted strop/paddle?

Still a newbie and collecting my kit I'll be using a SRP honemeister for the major stuff but need advice on what to use for just touching up the edge, in addition to a plain leather strop. Would a pasted strop/paddle be better or could I achieve the same thing with a barber's [dry] hone? I'd like to keep it simple. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

There is no right way or best way its a matter of what you prefer to do. Each has advantages. Pasted Strops are very easy to use and rookies can get good results and they are fast but the edge doesn't last as long as with a hone but they are so easy to use its no problem. A hone is the classic way to do it. It requires more skill and lasts longer. Barbers hones are similar to standard hones just that you have to know what kind of hone you have. Very often they are not marked though most are for finishing.
