Default THANKS LYNN!!!!! (First Real Shave)

I've shaved 3 or 4 times before now, but I think I'm just going to go ahead and renounce those times and call 15 minutes ago my first shave ever. Why? Because those times really don't count, as they don't even come close to comparing. I now know what a properly honed razor can do.

Earlier this week I excitedly opened the box I got from Lynn with FOUR freshly honed razors. I've been dying to try them, but between school work and letting a small cut from the previous shave heal, it just didn't happen till now. Wow. Just wow.

The hardest part was deciding which to use; the 7/8 Friodur with custom Bill Ellis scales? the Wade & Butcher Special? I've got it! I'll use the Dubl Duck Goldedge! Oh wait, now I've got to choose between the round point Goldedge and the spike point Goldedge.... (Ok, that bit was bragging ), and I finally went with the round point Goldedge.

A couple hot towels later, Colleen's Lime Margarita soap was lathered on and I was ready to go. The first pass I thought something must be wrong... there was NO pulling! 10 minutes later, I didn't know what hit me. I only went WTG, but I was so happy at that point I was afraid to try anything else. And the only casualty was a small strip of my left sideburn.

So thank you Lynn. Really. Thank you. I was already enamored with straight shaving, and now... no one's getting these straights away from me until I'm dead. I now know what it feels like to shave with a properly honed razor, and have a standard to aspire to with my own honing.

To those who haven't shaved yet, I highly recommend doing it the first time with a professionally honed blade. They weren't kidding.

    Best,
    Evan

Thank you for taking the time to post your positive experience. It's not nearly as hard as you thought with the shave ready razors is it? Anyway, it sounds like you have several really nice razors to play with so enjoy!

Even the times before this were positive; many passes with a (I now realize) dull razor, and having my face less irritated than with a mach 3, etc. This was life-changing. This is just what I was waiting for. ...and those are just the ones I have sharp so far.

Its the best feeling in the world isn't it. They are some nice shavers you have.
Keep us up to date on how each of them perform.
