Default Third shave and feeling good

I gotta say that i feel like i am starting to get the hang of straight shaving! My third shave is in the bag and it is getting much better. I went and acquired a tony miller starter strop (Truly a thing of beauty..worked great) and had a much better shave. I feel like my technique is also improving, though i get the sense that my razor could use a touch up or be honed all together, but i will give it a few more shaves before i make that decision. All in all, i am in a state of awe and have even been getting others interested in the art. Thanks to everyone that has aided in my transition to straight razor shaving!

Congratulations! It sounds like things are working as they should, and it's great to hear about it. Keep up the good work.

Nice one. I've just started too. Had about five shaves so far, the last one was good for two days. I followed some advice I read - shower first, get face wet and warm, maybe use a little Johnsons baby oil (UK cream for babies bums) before shaving, leave lather on face for a few minutes, strop the razor as best your able (hopefuly the razor has been honed shave sharp!), let the blade shave you and don't push it....much!
I have to say I'm really enjoying it. I am worried about developing RAD due to the high standard of some beautiful custom razors coming out of the US (and one chap in Italy) I have seen on this site.

Congrats on the good shaves...keep it up! And it's always fun getting others interested. I find that I can't help but tell all of my friends about my straight razors, and I LOVE their reaction.
