Default Did my first shave -- no cuts!

Well, I would call it a success! i got home from my trip and my Kropp 5/8 was here so I finished my day, then went to bust out my first shave.

I dont even know if I did my lather right -- is just a Williams soap and I put in a cup and wet my brush and put it to work in it for a while, but it was more like foam and not a lather -- soap or too much water, what do u guys think? No idea here.

Anyway, I tried to give myself a nice hot towel but the only towel i had was a crappy cleaning rag (clean) and id get in hotw ater, squeeze and apply for a few minutes -- cooled off quick.

So, I put on some soap to the face tryin to massage in and get the hairs ready. Then, i started.

I did my entire face. I'm not afraid of the blade, soI went headstrong. But, since I dont have a strop I tried stropping on newspaper and I might have messed up the edge I dont know -- or I suck at understanding angles and pressure which wouldnt surprise me as its my first shave.

Needless to say, no major cuts. I had a lil blood pop up, but I didnt get the styptic out for it, and it stopped before I was done.

I did a few passes every where, neck and cheek. Not overly close but, not too bad either, acceptable.

So, I dont know what to do about the blade -- rehone? try again? I'll prolly try again... I need to buy a strop. Tony Miller I think it will be.

Bears best soap in the mail, excited for that.

Awesome, glad to hear it went well! I'd give it a few more tries without re-honing/touching-up... the best thing you can probably do is experiment with angles and pressure.

    Congrats!
