Thanked: 0High humidity climate
Hey all,
I have a DOVO 5/8 and was wondering what I can do to prevent rusting in my high humidity climate, almost tropical.
What's suggested care for my case?
Thanks!

If you use it every day I wouldn't do anything but make sure it is dry after every use before putting it away. if you don't use it every day and you have like 90% humidity or in that range I would probably use some mineral oil or sterol or something like that.

Use a hair dryer to make sure it is dry. If you use oil it needs to be applied to a dry razor.

Store it in a box with uncooked rice in it. Guaranteed to absorb moisture from the air around it and keep it rust free. (Ever wondered why restaurants in tropics will often mix rice into the salt sellar? Same reason... stops salt from getting moist and clumping together.)

One from the deep recesses of my mind.....
The Japanese use Camellia oil to keep blades free of corrosion. Use pure stuff if you can rather than that mixed with mineral oil.

I live in a very humid environment; on a boat in Florida. I deal with moisture all the time. So I store my razors in a nice cigar box with a couple of silica packets. I also coat them in mineral oil.
Edit: I also blow dry the currently used razor with cool air before putting it away or coating it with oil.
