first shave notes
So i received my Wapi on saturday and I couldn't hold myself back anymore. I wanted so bad to run to the bathroom and try it out. However with it being the blue and white game here at psu I spent the morning drinking and decided I should wait until after dinner to attempt it.
Well post nap and dinner I told my mom who happened to be in town to stick around and take me to the ER should I screw up. Well I started with stropping then I began my task. I don't think I had the blade sharp enough because every stroke felt like I was using a broken piece of glass. I decided to strop again and continue. I proceeded to take a nice chunk out of my chin.
At this point, I realized that my blood was a bit too thin for this activity and spent the next hour doing damage control. (My investment in a septic pen was a day too late!)
Today I decided my blade wasn't nearly sharp enough and thats why it hurt so bad so I spent a good amount of time on the side with chromium stuff on it and then the leather side. I took a hair and let it drop on the razor and it broke in half! This time I knew it was sharp enough and I attempted a second shave.
WOW
I have never had a closer shave in my life even double backing with a vibrating mach 3. My skin feels amazing and I didnt cut myself once. Thanks again to Kenrup for setting me up with the wapi and strop!

Good job Jason! Be patient sometimes it feels like two steps forward and one step back. Have fun.

Great work! Try some super glue for the chin and get back to it!

Thanked: 3795Hey, great malapropism!
The word you were looking for was styptic, not septic, pen!
They kind of have different meanings!

Congrats on the shave, Jason! Oh, and congrats on using your pasted strop as well! That can be a difficult thing.
Have fun,
