    Chrisl,
Have you tried flexing the cup out of either of these. On the Dovo type leather it seems to hold for a day or two, on Latigo a good deal longer.

I grab then at the top with my hand, fingers on one side, heel of my hand on the other and give a slight bow to it to counteract the cup then slowly run my hand down the length of the strop once or twice. This seems to fix things for a while.

I was surprised that on a cupped Jemico I own if I let it go slightly slack the weight of the razor flattens it's cup easily. I have had a few though that simpy had a mind of their own and would refuse to flatten!

I didn't feel you were bashing at all, jut wanted to offer some suggestions...no worries! I do want my stuff to work perfectly so was hoping to figure what was going on to create what you are finding. I would be glad to look at it if there is an issue and do what I can.

When I was learning I found I always nicked the lower edge too, directly on the side of the hand holding the razor and it was caused by too much pressure on that side.

Yes this would be normal TM. Then you learn.Your paddles are the best.
