as many of the other responses to guys that are new my advice go really slow, Shave the easier areas first and finish with your tradition shaving method. I would also reccomend getting an alum block as they really help ease any possible irritations when beginning with a straight. Keep us posted and let us now how the first shave goes. Also before you touch your face make sure the razor is shave ready if it isn't have one of the honemeisters on here hone it for you the first time so you know what a good blade can do. Other than that good shaving

Looks like you have a great setup!
I'll echo someone else's advise and strongly recommend that you get your razor honed by a honemeister and made shave ready. They don't come from the manufacturer in shave-ready condition no matter what they say.

Welcome, George M. We're glad you're here. Don't hesitate to ask questions when you start shaving. Most often the first shaves can be frustrating and uncomfortable. If you do decide to succumb to temptation and try to shave with your new razor without getting it honed, try only taking a single pass on each cheek very lightly. If it pulls or doesn't even cut whiskers, stop and get your razor professionally honed.
