Default First honing was a huge success

Well since i am still a newb, i thought it best to post this in the newb section.

I used most of last night to hone my 3 razors, and man was i pleased.

This was my first time honing, and only touch ups was needed.
I used a 6k chineese wetstone, and finished on canvas with .5 micro paste and plain leather.

All 3 pass the shave test with flying colours, and i am more than pleased

Now i eargerly await my Norton 4K/8K combo, and Norton Lapping stone, for the best possible outcome.

I would also like to say that this staraight shaving business is really "all that" and "the bag of chips"
I have never enjoyed shaving so much, and i am still at a place where i almost cant wait to strop up and go again.

Thanks for this valuable source of info.

The people here are really great and you have really demystified the world of straights for me.

As for shaving, i am now able to get comfortable shaves with HIGH comfort, and silky smoothness, and the days of cartridge blades are numbered in my house.
I normally go 2x WTG and get the smoothness i crave from that.
No nicks or cuts, apart from the 2 aquired during the first to shaves i ever did with a straight.

    thats all for now.

Congrats Hector! I've been straight shaving for over about a year now and I STILL can't wait to shave!

Sadly, don't be fooled into thinking that the gear collection is complete...it never is!

    Congrats Hector!

A job well done, and a few questions answered, I guess.
