    In my opinion, if a razor hangs up on the whiskers while shaving, that 's a problem with the sharpness of the blade. Not sure stropping can correct that. It might need a touch-up on a hone or a pasted strop.

    Sharp edges will get you most of the way there, but no matter how sharp I get the blade (I've put blades well into the "too sharp" range) it still comes back to the way I move my arm, wrist and fingers. If that fluid, strong yet smooth movement isn't there, the sharpest blade in the world will not make up for it, and will just cause more damage when it does get hung up
