Thread: New Guy

Hello from the New Guy.
Just like most, I'm tired of buying razor blades...and shaving with a str8 is cool.
I'm in the military so I have to shave everyday!
Plus, I shave my head every other day...have been for 10yrs or so.
I'll start searching this place to try and answer all my questions...before I buy a razor and cut myself!
Just like every new person...who makes the best starter kit?

Welcome to SRP. I'm retired Army so I know what you mean about the shaving thing. A lot of us are into straight razor shaving because of the cartridge rebellion.
Starter kits are offered by various members on the board from time to time. Your making a smart move by researching first. There is a learning curve to all aspects of str8 shaving. Starting off with a entry level setup will help you get up to speed with out worrying about trashing your investment. Your doing the best thing by starting out here.

Welcome aboard! Glad to see you're interested. I agree with Ken...great idea doing the research first. I happened to make the mistake of buying a razor and strop before reading the stickies only to find out I had bought a crap razor.

Whenever you're ready to buy, I suggest you watch the B/S/T forum...there are great deals in there all the time. Or check out any of the sites listed in the "Newbies Info" sticky.

I've been reading all the stickies and info and I've come to a conclusion...by the time I'm done reading on this site...ALL MY WHISKERS WILL HAVE FALLEN OUT!!!!
