Hi, I'm Whiggamore.

I often wait until I'm about four posts into a conversation to introduce myself.

Nice to meet you all.

I'm new to traditional wet shaving. My beard butchery started at 12 with a Mach III Turbo safety razor. She served me faithfully until I inherited an old Gillette safety razor. King George VI gave it to my Grandfather for his efforts in World War II. Personally, I'm sure. A year and a half ago I left Canada for Belize where I used safety razor blades with half the paper wrapping taken off, something the locals call "Gillettes". Belizeans have a habit of calling an item by the brand name first sold in the country. Bug spray is called, "Fish", mosquito sticks are "Zebras", etc. Eventually I won a Fusion safety razor. I use that now, back in Canada. It isn't as close as the Gillettes but my fiancee never complained. I also had a Braun electric razor for a while. Huge mistake.

Before Belize I used shaving cream from a can. In Belize and since I've used Dettol brand bar soap.

I didn't use aftershave before Belize. In Belize I used rum. Since I've been home it has been some Italian stuff with a pine scent.

My fiancee is in Belize, a Belizean as a matter of fact. We're to be married on June 21. I'm very, very excited about that. Obviously.

I'm just a young guy.

I like 1 Barrel Rum and Romeo y Julietas' churchills. I'm in the process of converting to the Catholic faith. A bit of a young fogey, I guess.

Enough though. Like I said, nice to meet you all.
