Actually there are many who use a boar all their lives and are very happy with it though most of them have never used a badger before. However. there are many who have used a boar and a badger and go back to a boar because they prefer it. Its all a ymmv type of thing. Personally I would never go back to a boar.

Well that's at least two people, you and I, that can absolutely testify to being satisfied with the Tweezerman. I bought mine for $15 last year. I would say since I took it out of the package (the box does boast of a lifetime guarantee and is made for Henckels) it has shed no more than 10 hairs. I've let it soak in hot scuttle water for a lot longer than I thought was healthy (15+ minutes) with absolutely positively no ill effects and no shedding. It makes lather explode from my shave bowl and is much softer on my face than my scritchy pure bristle I had before. Better brushes out there? I'm certain of it. Woe to those who wish to pay more for a more expensive brush? Most certainly not. It works very well for me and for the price, I challenge someone to say it's not worth the money. Maybe after I run out of razors and stones to try I'll think of buying one of those Plimsoul things.

The difference between Boar hair and badger id huge, and believe it or not the difference between regular badger hair, and silver tip is nearly as big IMHO.
Even an inexpensive silvertip brush will blow your mind.

The C&E Best Badger brush is a great brush for the price. I love mine and have never regretted spending the money.

Nothing quite beats a silvertip but If im in a rush or travelling, I still use a boar hair brush for speed and efficiency.
