Inattention to details
I've been using a straight razor for about 3 months, have only managed to give myself 1 or 2 little nicks, no big deal. That was until this morning. I usually shave at night so I can take and time not be rushed. I also am wide awake.
This morning I decided to treat myself to a shave before work, figured a nice way to start the day, I lathered up after a shower, razor stropped about 20 or 30 laps and went to shaving. After getting all done I was doing touch ups and when I ran my left hand over the side of my face to check for stubble, I moved the razor in to clean up a little bit. I proceeded to run the blade into the back of my fingers on my left hand . Dang but that hurt, especially a minute or two later.
Let me tell you just a couple seconds of inattention to that blade and I have two good cuts on the back of my middle and ring fingers. It doesn't take much, don't forget to remember where the point and edge of that blade is at ALL times

Thanked: 3Ouch! I did something similar, however I was testing the blade with my thumb and well something distracted me and for some reason or another, I ran my fore finger across the blade effectively slicing off a nice top layer of skin. Taking a finger print on that finger would have been futile
