Hello Gentlemen
I think I had best start off by introducing myself. My name is Richie and as a member of another shaving forum here on the web, I have become more and more interested in the world of straight shaving. I have been an avid DE shaver for about 8 months now, and I thought I might come over here onto this board to pick up some tips on my 1st straight razor, strop and techniques. I did have a salter razor for a short period, but as it wasn't honed up I obviously didn't get anywhere near good results and I subsequently fell out of favour with the straight pretty quickly.
This time around I will read suggestions from you fine chaps, and get myself a pre-honed razor and a strop so I know what a sharp straight feels like right from the outset

Welcome Richie!
Hey, I still have that Salter razor. Have not managed to get it in my rotation yet but it is in beautiful condition.
I did not realize that you were selling/trading because of the shave quality you were getting. Hope you are still enjoying the stuff I traded for your Salter.
If you are looking for a starter blade and starter strop, then Kenrup has a nice package.
You will find lots of information here. Enjoy!

At the time it wasn't just that, it was because I didn't have the time and patience to really work at a straight. Now with the prospect of a months worth of holiday coming up I have some time to devote more to straight shaving. I will most likely give Kenrup a PM and see if he can fix me up.
