Thread: Hello Everyone

I'm a college student and am absolutely new to straight shaving. I've been doing research for a while and so I decided to go ahead and order a set from Kenrup. I decided to get a brush and soap too so I can get the full experience. It all arrives on Monday.

I've decided to try straights for a variety of reasons, mainly because I can never get a close enough shave. I've tried the disposables and electric and it's just not working as well as I want. Also, I'm a history buff, so when I think of straight razors I think of Imperial British officers in the depths of Africa. I think that's awesome. Also, there is no cooler way to shave one's face - period.

So yeah, I've been reading a lot around here and you've already been extremely helpful. Just wanted to say hi!

I'm also pretty new around here. I totally agree with your reasons for getting into it. As a guy who uses fountain pens and pocket watches, straights just seemed like the next step. Of course, I'm waiting to start bragging with it till I'm not walking around with cuts on my chin!
