Thread: Strop maintenance paste

With the stuff I bought in my shaving kit came strop maintenance paste- what is it?

In a little tube with a yellow band, then a fatty oil to apply to keep the strop supple over the decades.

In a bottle it could be some form of conditioner/draw enhancer to create more pull as you strop.

I'd need more info, like where you got it.

I got it from the invisible edge (I can't post the link, my computer seems to not want to cut and paste for me for some reason). It's in a tube, so I'd say that it's the former

Consider yourself lucky if he sends that stuff out for free, its wicked expensive.

It was part of the kit I bought. I must admit, it's a good site with good service- and I'm saying that with no favours or discounts given to me or anything :P

Be really careful using the strop conditioner. Read up on it first, before applying. It's hard to permanently ruin a strop, but it could take a while to get it back to beautiful if you've over conditioned it.
