I Just Gotta Brag a Little
I am not usually one to brag, But I am pretty damn proud of myself, and what I accomplished thus far.
I went on to Ebay and won the auction on this razor.
Boker:
When I got it, it was in decent shape, but certainly not a shaver.
So, I sonic cleaned it, then I took the dremmel tool to it. and I got it to look pretty good.
Then I polished the blade more with wet/dry paper up to 1,500 grit paper, and finished it off with rubbing compound until it was shiny.
the edge wasn't sharp enough to paper, let alone hair. So onto the Norton 4k/8k stone, I set an edge on the 4k, and it was sharp enough to now cut hair.
I moved to the 8k, and finished that edge. Moving onto the China Stone, 12k...I spent some time on this one making sure that every stroke was perfect...When I finished, this thing looks great.
The real test was the shave.
Now this is my third shave with a straight razor. And I am still waiting for my Leather strop, So I stropped it on a hand towel....
Made ready for a shave, well I am finished, I worked WTG for two passed, and XTG on my cheeks for the third pass, and the finale pass was touch ups like around the Adams apple.
The others razors I tried were not nearly as sharp as this one, I don't know, I think it may be a combo of my skills getting better, and the quality of the blade.
But this is the first BBS shave from a Straight razor... Well the Cheeks are BBS, and the Neck is close enough.. Considering I don't have any scars for the effort.
I just have to say, I am real proud of myself, I showed off my face to my wife, and she was e impressed....I never would have thought I could get a very close shave from a straight, and my face is not on fire this time......
This is my razor after I restored it.

Thanks Byron.... I was more suprised than anything how well it turned out, as you can see from the first pictures, there was some pretty big scratches in it...I wasn't sure I could make this much better.
It really did turn out beautifull well IMHO...and the shave is great.
I will post it in the Boker club.
Robert.

yep, very nice razor. as you found out scratches are not a problem if you don't mind loosing the original grind marks it's just removing some metal to level it off with the bottom of the scratches
congratulations on the honing and the shave.
