Thanked: 1Honing-Arizona Oil stone
Hello,
I´m using a Norton 4000/8000 and still trying to get a sharp razor from it.
Recently I got hold of a antique Arizona Oils Stone in perfect condition.
Anyone on the forum who knows what grit it can be? Can I use it after the 8000?
Still on the learning curve

Just a guess since I have no direct experience with them (are you sure you don't mean Arkansas?)but they are very likely to be rougher than your 4000 grit. Almost every oil stone is.

All Arkansas stones measure in at 1200 grit or so. However, the Black surgical and the translucent Arkansas stones are capable of putting a shaving edge on a razor. I'm told that edge feels smoother than the 8000 as well. Most Arkansas stones out there are the soft or the hard whites though and these just aren't fine enough to do the job. All Arkansas are very slow cutters as well. I like my hard white for my kitchen knives and other kniveswhere I want a durable sharp edge, there it works really well, but I use other methods for the things I own made of harder steel that need sharper edges like wood chisels, plane irons, and razors.
