    Default One shave down...

...and many more to go. First straight shave done with; now I have some questions. The razor seemed to pull at the hair and subsequently irritate my skin a lot... how do I know if it's the razor or my technique? Could it be the edge isn't sharp enough or maybe the wrong angle? I don't know how to tell. (Oh, and I got the razor shave-ready from another SRP member.)

everyone's definition of shave ready is different. I would suggest that you use some Chromium Oxide (CrO) on it (at least 60 no-pressure passes and about 100 passes on your strop. This should help smooth out the edge.
If this does not help, then you may need to drop back to something like a yellow coticule and do about one hundred passes.
    Keep us posted.

I have a barber hone coming in the mail. Would that do the job?
