I got it from Executive Shaving for 34.99. Chinese waterstone, natural waterstones, honing waterstones, Chinese 12k sharpening block Their website says they're awaiting stock right now, but other places have it at the same price. I THINK it's good, but I've nothing to compare it to of course!

Thanked: 84I bought a coticule, it has a few more uses than the 12k, but, the 12k is a very good reasonably priced finnishing hone, so I have heard and been told by Steve Invisible(sorry it's a Welsh thing - eg Dai hat,Viv the gas etc etc !!).
What razors do you use?

Yeah many fear the honing, but it's really no big deal tbh. Just take practice.
Glad it's working out for you.

From "Steve Invisible" (LOL) I got a 4/8 Driestern near-wedge and a 5/8 hollow-ground Gotta. (love that one!) I also got a completely blunt Ern Crown & Sword from a friend of mine, which I managed to get honed up and shaving.
My best find was in an antique shop near me: A seven day set, unfortunately with 2 razors missing, by Taylors Eye-Witness. At the time I hadn't done any honing, but I really bought it for the box: oak box, plush-lined with the 7 slots and a brass insert for my initials on the top!(And best of all the whole lot was only 20 quid!)
I come from the Orkney Islands, where we seem to have a similar habit of nicknaming people. And I bet I've heard almost as many jokes about sheep as you have Marcus!!
Ahhhhh, looking forward to my morning shave now!

If you guys were stateside you could get them here. I believe you got the smaller sized one pictured. Cost 19.99 USD I don't know if they do international sales.

Thanks!
It's definitely the larger one I've got at home, 2-3/4'" wide. That's still half the price that we pay over here tho, when you take the exchange rate into account! Next hone I need, (sorry, WANT) I'll check out shipping prices from the US!
The Norton 4k/8k is a lot cheaper too; you guys have all the luck!
Ian.
