    Default Questions?????Purchasing razor and accoutrement

I have been shaving with a straight razor for a couple of years. My razor needs to be re-sharpened and I need to purchase another. I also am worried about my old strop. SO: I need some advice as to razor to buy maybe another strop, definitely a stone for sharpening and some strop cream. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I like to buy all my stuff from Classicshaving.com. For no other reason than they have good products and you can combine the shipping on all of it.

Since your experienced you might be looking for a barber hone too. I like Redtrader99 on Ebay, otherwise known as Tilly.

Default Thanks for your help but...

Thanks for your answer. I agree about classic shaving they seem rather professional. I started looking up redtrader99 on ebay and came up with nothing. Is there some other way to look it up?

    Thanks

I've heard that most all of her stock is gone, so you may only see her on Ebay sporadically.

You can get a decent three-line Swaty on ebay for 15 to 20 bucks. That's what I use to touch-up my razors when they start pulling.

yeah, I remember somebody posting that tilly already sold all her hones...
look at the classifieds - I believe there was a finishing barber's hone there few days ago - ask the seller if they can lap it for you (some of us have diamond plates which make lapping a whole lot easier and better). if it's not there anymore you can post a WTB. otherwise you can probably pick one off ebay - since most sellers there don't know what the hone is it's safer to get the swaty brand as they are finishing hones - very good suggestion.
