I pewrform cut throat shaves in my barbers shop.I use the dovo shavette with derby blades. It is true as a barber i allways perform a shave with the Grain 1st pass.It is said that if you plane apiece of wood you always plane with the grain if you plane against the grain this will tear up the wood and the same can happen with your face you can tear your skin up causing blood spots and sourness.Me for my own personal shave because i no my skin i will now and again shave against the grain with a straight razor and have no problems as i find a straight very forgiving. In most cases i personaly think thres only one way to get super smooth shave and that is wtg then xtg to reduce stubble and atg for ultra smooth it may leave some people uncomfortable but that is the only way. When i am shaving a client i ask them if they shave against the grain in there neck area if they say yes and they have no proble,ms then i will shave them against the grain only if i feel the need to.
