Okay guys and gals, I've seen a few posts with advice for the newbies, and thought I'd offer up some more.
I'll keep it short and sweet and throw out what I think has helped me the most.
KEEP IT LIGHT!!
No extra pressure on the razor when you shave, let the blade do its job, and your face will thank you. Try different angles of approach for stubborn areas, but don't use more and more pressure!!!
No extra pressure while stroping. Less chance of rolling the edge, and should your razor nick the strop, it won't be as deep
No extra pressure while honing. You'll find out that a light touch here can get your razor a little bit more sharp than if you put any kind of weight on the razor.
There's plenty more to learn, but hopefully this will help out some of you.
