I finally achieved a bbs, irritation free shave today!

Shave time = 20 minutes. Woot !


Yeah, first bbs shave w/ a straight razor... I've been learning for a few months now, so it's a big deal for me.

Chin ... moustache ... got it all.

Actually did three complete passes today without the use of lather or a styptic pencil. Just recieved one very small ding on the area right under the nose. It bled for about 20 seconds. I must have scared it shut lol.

I'm actually shocked, since I honed the razor and all. To be honest, the blade could be sharper. I have found I like it a bit dull for learning.

I think I am in love with my henckels. Right now I wouldnt trade it for the world.


I am really starting to prefer a full grind as well. I think it has to do with all of the feedback I get from the blade.

3 passes without lather? Really?

Yeah, I use olive oil.

Works better for me right now.

I was wondering about that too!
Have used olive oil for beard softening but have not tried shaving with it alone.
