    Default Canadian retailers?

does anyone know of any Canadian retailers of straight razor and the accessories to go with them?
i have been searching the web and found nothing, tons in the US and England but nothing in Canada.
any help would be very appreciated.

I purchased a rooney brush from them which I am very pleased with.

Unfortunately, it's pretty slim pickens for us Canadians with regard to shaving supplies. On the other hand, so far I have had no trouble with Customs shipping a lot of different products up from various US retailers (and a razor from Germany) and the CAD has been pretty good. Although it seems to decline against the greenback daily in the last while.

ya i ordered my first kit from Tony before i actually knew about these forums and it turned out great. i just am a little low on cash and REALLY need a strop as i sliced mine up pretty good. i asked around to the barber shops and they all said they would get me a price and they order from the US about once a month. so they are an option for now. unfortunately no barber around will still do a straight razor shave. apparently some regulations changed because of the risk. i was hoping to get some pointers from some old barbers but no go.

There are a few barbers willing to bend rules if you've known them long enough, but for the most part it's pretty hard to get a straight shave anywhere but home these days. I know that they can shave you with one of those disposable straight 'shavettes' but I don't really think it's worth your while (slightly defeats the purpose).

Kinda depends on the supplys you are looking for.

I got my strop from Lee Valley. I got the2 sided strop with the paste. Also picked up my norton there.

For soaps and stuff, check out your local italian market for Proraso. There are Body Shops everywhere for soap/brush/aftershaves. Health food stores may have Thayers or some of the Kiss My Face stuff.

i actually own a health food store so i have the Kiss My Face line in stock. the shave products are good but some of the other products can have some sodium lauryl sulfates and other chemicals we don't want.
BTW thanks for the Lee Valley link they have some great stuff. i would love to get the 2 side strop and a Norton combo stone but i am afraid the norton will have to wait.

so i am looking for strops, pastes and hones. i have enough razors (3 for now) but links to sites with razors would be great also.

I must also mention that i did buy my starter kit from Tony at the well shaved gentlemen and he was great to deal with. i am actually going to buy a 4 sided strop from him in the near future so i am definitely not against going over the border.

thanks for all the links so far everyone.
