First time and no stitches!!
Well, today I took an open blade to my face and neck for the first time and came away with no blood!! I did as was suggested and took it easy starting with the sides of my face but after getting through that I did the rest! With and then on some areas across the grain – it’s wasn’t down to the bone and baby’s bum smooth but I’ll get there
I’d like to thank the member who sharpened and stropped my blade ready, it’s actually a friends but I have a Wapi coming to call my own at the beginning of next week.
I’m hooked – it’s a great experience just spending a bit of time on yourself in a... well... manly way.

Great fun init? I am on to my fourth shave tomorow and right from the start I have found that I get fewer nicks (apart from the one cut when I first put blade to face with a shakey hand) I finished off with a double edge razor as I was late for work and it was then I nicked my neck. I always used to cut my chin with a safety razor but not once so far with the open razor. This forum site is fab.

Take your time and enjoy it. I'm learning that stropping is very important! Also, this great site is full of useful information so dig in.
