    Default first shave with shavette...

    hey gents...

    so i tried my first shave with my shavette...one question...is it actually easier to use a genuine straight..rather than a shavette....i had no trouble except on either side of my adams apple which for me is very concave...so i guess maybe a little different skin stretch is in order...

    any help or pointers or just anyone telling me to keep my chin up will help..

    ive been using a de for about two months and my razor burn and ingrowns have left...but would really love to start using a straight...cuz i think it would be so cool...and my wife would love to make fun of me for my new found addiction to personal well being...haha...

    let me know your opinions...thanks..

    In my opinion shavettes and Feather ACs are sharper, but str8s give you a more confortable shave.
    Witht the shavettes you have to concentrate more on pressure.
    The str8s present a new challenge besides shaving technique, which is honing and keeping the blade sharp.
    It's a lot of fun.

    The shavette will give you a good shave But you will need to use a very light touch as the blades are very sharp & a bit unforgiving. I personally found mine to be a useful tool to help me use a lighter touch & concentrate on the angle I was using more.You will have to alter your technique a little bit when You go over to a straight but this shouldn't be a problem.
    I used a straight first & experimented with the shavette & apart from nicking myself with the sharp spike on the razor blade its been ok. But a word of caution from my own experience KEEP the touch light or you will find the shavette is more unforgiving than a straight & will get bad razor burn.Paul

    When I started with the shavette I had to try different ways to stretch the skin so I can empathize with your problem especially that same area. Keep at it and remember on thing: patience
