What's up SRP?
I'm new to SRP and straight shaving, although I've been wetshaving with a DE for about 8 months now.
(I came here from... er... well, another shaving forum... ok it was B&B, but no badger-bashing please!)
I've got my first razor - a cheap vintage J.A. Henckels that has been honed by a friend - and a Illinois hanging strop.
I've gotten some pretty good shaves from it, although I admit I'm still working on my technique.
I look forward to the future when I'll have my first quality razor and the ability to hone it!Last edited by huntmol; 11-17-2008 at 10:28 PM.

Hi there,
Welcome over! DE shaving is great for teaching many of the methods required for straight shaving, & you already have a lot of the gear needed.
The Henckels is a quality razor!

Welcome, huntmol
Many of us like most of the folks over at B&B so there's no need to fear a bash fest. Nice to see you stepping up to the plate though.

G'day & Welcome.
Ditto on the Henckels being a quality razor.
You're lucky to have a friend who can hone. No doubt he'll show you how & you'll be well on your way.The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Welcome!
I also have an account on both boards.(Gotta make sure all the DE users see a straight shaver presence)
Welcome to the dark side.
I have a henckels 4/8 myself, they're great shavers. Keep practicing, there's lots of helpful users available here to answer your questions. Again, welcome to the forum.
