Check in, please!
Hello everybody!
I come directly from the B&B site and I am no longer a DE junkie!
I started to straight shave with a Wapi about 1 week ago and never went back again!
I have to learn a lot, so I am going to need your help...
So, for starters, I would like to know if a 1/2 or 1/4 hollow ground is close to a wedge blade?
I have a Bengall full hallow and my wapi is almost wedge. I realize that the latter is the one for me and would like to buy another wedge blade. The problem is that I thynk DOVO and TI don´t do them anymore. Am I right?

Welcome, we're glad to have you.
Funny, I thought a TI Super Gnome was a 1/4 hollow. I guess they must have changed that; I just looked on classic's website and it says they're a 1/2 hollow.
If you're looking for a stiffer grind new production razor, you'll probably be satisfied with a 1/2 hollow grind.
Let us know how things go.

The TI Super Gnome...
Don't confuse it with the Super Gnome Extra which is a hollow ground blade. I have an extra and it is a great little shaver. I found that I like a hollower grind now than when I first started. It is easier for me to be very light with them I guess. Good luck on what ever you are looking for!
Have Fun!

OK.
I need a second razor - 1/2 hallow - so what would you recomend between these two: DOVO Classic Straight/ TI Super Gnome.
Any thoughts?

Thanked: 1903The Dovo is out of stock there. My local shop still carries one like it, and at about the same price. It is a fantastic shaver, and at this price simply cannot be beat if you want a new razor.
While I cannot comment on the quality of the TI, I would go for one of the razors from the Classifieds, as you could get two equally good or better razors for the price of this one TI.

Thanks for your opinion!
I am going to buy one from that site, it has a great price. I don´t understand german: does it come pre-honed or not?
Maybe it is better for me to send it to Steve at invisible edge :-)

Thanked: 1903You can always run foreign language texts through Yahoo! Babel Fish - Text Translation and Web Page Translation.
Their razors do come shave ready. And they do an exceptionally good job at it, too. Give Herr Poenitzsch (the owner) my regards.

A quarter hollow is closer to a full wedge because it is only 1/4 hollow. The full hollows and the double hollows are even further than the half hollows.
Get the Super Gnome. You won't be disappointed.
