Congrats on your shave! Glad to hear you are making such great progress. You are doing much better than I did when I first started out shaving.

I just had my first shave, awesome feeling!
Dovo 5/8 razor, right out off the box, it passed HHT after some stropping, so I figured I'd give it a try.
Pure badger Col Conk brush
Col conk soap (don't know which, but it smelled good)
Gillette aftershave (with alcohol in it

About 100 draws on each side of the strop.
The bathroom fan made it hard to hear anything, maybe a good idea to strop in a quiet place the next time.

A nice and thick lather.

Did the sides of my face first, then I just did the rest, only tricky parts was under my nose and the tip of my chin.
I ended up with a shave about as good as one pass with a Mach3. I got a small (2mm) nick on the left side of my mouth and some pink spots in the chin area. Not any worse than a Mach3.

The worst part was to apply the aftershave, it burnt like crazy!

All in all I am happy with it.
